Welder II

Seeking an Experienced Fabrication Welder with Signing Bonus !

Duties and Responsibilities
• Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions
• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
• Monitor quality to assure consistent and acceptable welds
• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to final assembly, using straightedges, combination squares, calipers, and rulers
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure work pieces with straightedges or templates to ensure conformance with specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to the welding trade
• Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt component parts to obtain required configurations and positions for welding
• Understand the amount of pieces that need to be welded per hour, required welded pieces per job, and be able to achieve those goals
• Verify that parts being used in welding process are consistent and proper to adhere to requirements per first piece produced
• Keep the assigned work station swept and cleaned as necessary, keep clutter and trip hazards out of work areas
• Use PPE, per training, as required for the specific task being performed
• Other jobs and/or duties as directed by fabrication supervisor


Qualifications
Education/Experience
     o High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
     o 1-2 years MIG welding experience
Technology
     o none
Knowledge
     o Production and Processing – Knowledge of welding processes, materials, quality control and techniques
     o Mechanical - Knowledge of welding equipment, uses, repair, and maintenance
     o Design – knowledge of blueprint designs and technical specifications
Skills
     o Reading Comprehension
     o Controlling operations of tools
     o Advanced mechanical skills
Abilities
     o Arm-Hand Steadiness – the ability to keep your hand and arm steady while moving or holding a position
     o Multi-limb Coordination – the ability to coordinate two or more limbs while sitting, standing, or lying down
     o Near Vision – the ability to see details at close range
     o Control Precision — The ability to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions

     o Visualization — The ability to imagine how something will look after it is moved around or when its parts are moved or rearranged

Working conditions
• Sounds, Noise - Job requires frequent exposure to noises that may be distracting or uncomfortable
• Indoors, Not Environmentally Controlled – Job requires working in a metal fabrication and warehouse environment without a cooling system
• Exposed to Contaminants - job requires frequent exposure to weld fumes and high intensity ultraviolet radiation
• Wear Common Protective or Safety Equipment: Job requires constant use of the required personal protective equipment
• Duration of Typical Work Week – as a full-time position the standard schedule is 40 hours/week. Production volumes will often require voluntary or mandatory weekday and/or weekend overtime.


Physical requirements
• Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials
• Must be able to lift and move 50 lb parts or fixtures.
• Must be able to stoop, bend, and reach overhead to assemble and/or move products.
• Must be able to stand and work on your feet for an entire shift


Compensation
• $16-21 per hour
• $1,000 signing bonus possible

  • 2+ years 3D solid modeling experience.
  • Creo/ProE experience is preferred.
  • Utilizes Creo software to produce 3D models and prints
