That’s a wrap for ProMat 2019! This past April, the Jtec sales team (plus a few additional team members) spent a full week at booth S1684 at ProMat Show in Chicago. This trade show spanned 400,000 square feet of exhibitors at McCormick Place, all focused on showcasing the latest trends in the manufacturing, distribution and supply chain industry to over 45,000 attendees.
Jtec was just one of 1,000 exhibitors at ProMat but we showed our competitive edge with the demonstration of CarryMatic No-Touch Materials Movement System. This was our first time showing CarryMatic at a tradeshow since introducing the system at Modex in 2018. This autonomous solution, which integrates with AGV tuggers to move materials from one location to another in a facility, proved to be a big hit and reinforced the rising need of autonomy for materials movement in manufacturing and distribution facilities worldwide. Plus, CarryMatic was recently voted as Product of the Year, 2018 by a leading industry product review magazine!
When asked why products such as CarryMatic® are becoming a necessity in the manufacturing and supply chain industry, Joe Knepp, Jtec's vice president said, “CarryMatic® fills the gap [of labor shortages] by enabling complete automation of materials deliveries. Safety is also a big concern in the materials handling business. We have been leaders in providing solutions to limit forklift traffic in facilities. Companies are spending thousands of dollars on direct and indirect cost with forklift-related incidents and ergonomic injuries when there is no reason for them. This system reduces aisle traffic and human interaction with materials, dramatically decreasing the chances of these injuries.”
While CarryMatic® distinguished itself as a show stopper, it also brought interested exhibitors to Jtec’s other popular materials handling solutions such as the CarryMore® Tugger Cart System. CarryMore® eliminates or reduces the need for safety hazards such as forklifts while improving efficiencies by tugging a mother and daughter cart system through facilities. We also introduced a brand new product from our CarryMax line, our Heavy-Duty Bi-Directional Trailer. This trailer can easily be reconfigured from towing direction to being pushed/pulled sideways in either direction, making it a must-have for facilities lacking line-side space, and was in the running for an MHI Innovation Award. Jtec’s impressive lineup of solutions for moving materials had the booth busy all four days of the show. We enjoyed meeting all of the new and returning attendees and are looking forward to our next adventure in Atlanta at Modex 2020. Until then, watch our president, Jon Peterson, take you through our booth on Day 2 of ProMat!
