Boplan FLEX IMPACT Safety Barriers protect pedestrians, machinery, equipment, infrastructure, goods, and building surfaces from collisions involving forklifts and other industrial vehicles. Depending on the configuration, barriers can separate pedestrian walkways from vehicle routes, protect equipment at ground level, and help contain poorly stacked or falling materials.

The barriers use flexible Extrilene polymer components that absorb collision energy by bending during an impact. After the vehicle recoils, the components return toward their original shape while retaining their protective properties. This differs from rigid steel guardrails, which can permanently deform and transfer more collision force into their anchors and the surrounding concrete.

Boplan’s flexible design helps keep the anchor points secured by absorbing and distributing collision energy through the barrier components. This reduces the force transferred directly into the mounting hardware and concrete. Correct performance still depends on selecting the proper barrier, using the specified anchors, and installing it in concrete that meets the required condition and strength.

Impact resistance varies across the Boplan Safety Barrier range, with selected systems rated up to 50.1 kJ. Individual models have different ratings and protection heights based on their intended application.
