Product Details

The Mother Cart – Quad Steer TQSA-40 (Tugger, Quad-Steer, Single-Bay, “A” Size) is part of our CarryMore system. It features our patented, fully mechanical lift technology, lifting the daughter carts completely off the ground during transport. This true quad-steer design creates superior tracking in transit and allows this cart to make tight turns with minimal walk-in from the first cart to the last in the train.

Premium stout casters help easily tug up to 4,000 lbs and can be pulled in either direction with a quick change of the tongue, and can be arranged to be loaded from either side of the aisle. Carts are easily connected with a power quick connect and a standard 2″ ball hitch that creates a quiet, smooth, and consistent follow path.

FAQs

The TQSA-40 Quad-Steer Mother Cart can carry up to 4,000 pounds, including the daughter cart and its payload. The specification sheet lists a maximum total train weight of 10,000 pounds. Tow-vehicle capacity and route conditions must also be considered when configuring a tugger train.

The TQSA-40 accepts standard A-Size CarryMore daughter carts measuring up to 66″ × 50″. It is commonly paired with 50″ × 50″ daughter carts used for standard pallets or 48″ × 45″ knockdown containers. Compatibility depends on the daughter cart’s dimensions, weight, frame geometry, and Elemate engagement features.

Elemate 1.0 uses a fully mechanical, dual-pin center latch to engage and lift the daughter cart completely off the floor. Once raised, the daughter-cart casters no longer contact the travel surface, allowing the mother cart to control tracking without hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical lift components.

The true quad-steer design helps the TQSA-40 track consistently behind the tow vehicle and make tight turns with minimal walk-in between carts. This supports predictable movement through planned material-delivery routes. Actual turning space depends on train length, payload, tow vehicle, aisle width, intersections, and route geometry.

Yes. The mother cart can be arranged for daughter-cart loading from either side of the aisle. A quick-change, reusable tongue also allows the TQSA-40 to be pulled in either direction. This supports different line-side layouts and return routes without requiring the complete cart to be turned around.

The TQSA-40 specification sheet lists a maximum speed of 5 mph, a maximum slope below 9.5%, and a maximum train weight of 10,000 pounds. Actual operating limits may be lower based on payload distribution, tow-vehicle performance, stopping distance, floor conditions, intersections, and facility safety requirements.
