The TQDA-40 A-Size Dual-Bay Mother Cart can tug loads weighing up to 4,000 pounds. This capacity applies whether it carries two individual daughter carts or one larger daughter cart spanning both bays. The combined daughter-cart and payload weight must remain within the rated capacity.
Each bay accommodates A-Size daughter carts ranging from 39″ × 33″ to 66″ × 50″. One larger daughter cart measuring up to 117″ × 50″ can span both bays. Final compatibility depends on the daughter cart’s dimensions, loaded weight, frame geometry, and Elemate engagement points.
The TQDA-40 uses Jtec’s fully mechanical Elemate 1.0 lift technology and a center-latch design to raise daughter carts completely off the floor. Once lifted, the daughter-cart casters no longer contact the travel surface, allowing the mother cart to control their tracking without hydraulic, pneumatic, or electrical lift components.
Compatible A-Size configurations include turntable, refuse-hopper, roller-deck, over-under, kit, and flatbed daughter carts. The dual bays can carry two individual carts or one oversized cart spanning both positions. Compatibility should be confirmed using the daughter cart’s dimensions, weight, load distribution, and engagement features.
Yes. The TQDA-40 can be arranged for daughter-cart loading from either side of the aisle. A quick-change tongue also allows the mother cart to be pulled in either direction. This flexibility supports different line-side arrangements and return routes without requiring the complete cart to be turned around.
The tight-turn quad-steer design helps the mother cart track consistently behind the tow vehicle and navigate turns with limited walk-in between carts. The carts connect through a standard 2-inch ball hitch. Actual turning requirements depend on train length, payload, aisle width, intersections, and route geometry.
